First blooming daylily of the season...

The very first bloom this year is BABY BLUE EYES. At least I think it is. I was looking for some input from other daylily growers to see if this is really what the label says. Still its very pretty and I was excited to see a daylily bloom this morning. I woke up early. I was happy that I got to enjoy the bloom for a while before I went off to work.
Please feel free to comment and let me know what you think. Is this BABY BLUE EYES or does it look more like PRAIRIE BLUE EYES?

Hi Janice,

I think the petals are too wide and ruffled to be 'Prairie Blue Eyes'. Daylilies can look totally different when they arrive already in scape. I'd wait a bit longer and see if the bloom changes.

Hey Janice: I saw your post on the digest and had to come have a look! BBE was just planted here last fall, so when it blooms...we can compare pictures. I don't think my Prairie Blue Eyes is that dark...but again, we can compare (when it blooms) as I have a large clump of PBE. I would be disappointed if my BBE looks like PBE! Take care now.

I just pulled up Baby Blue Eyes on the Marietta Gardens site, and it doesn't look anything like the one on your FANTASTIC blog!

It surely doesn't look like Baby Blue Eyes to me. On the other hand, it's very pretty. And your blog is GREAT!
